MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network element functionality understanding
• BTS, BSC, RNC, MGW
• Cellular transmission equipment
• Auxiliary equipment
• ATM technology
• IP technology
Role:
• ATM Planning (Iub, Iu-Cs, Iu-Ps, Iur).
• Preparation of RNC, Node B and S-AXC Datafill (ATM Parameters) for integration.
• Creating of Node B xml files for site integration using AXC offline configuration (AOC) tool.
• Hands-on experience in EDGE/GRPS Planning.
• Detail capacity planning, pcm/mux plan, a-bis timeslot table, cross-connection plan, frequency planning, link calculation, Q1 planning, PCU utilization and BSC bordering.
• PDH/SDH microwave network planning.
• Planning for 2G/3G hybrid backhaul network.
• Background on IP/MPLS planning to provide oversubscription/overbooking for low priority data traffic. Planning tools
Expert level of using planning and dimensioning tools:
• NetAct Transmission Planner
• NetAct Link Planner
• Calipran.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
BSc in Telecommunications / Electronics Engineering

5+ years in related field
