Field Operations Engineer (VZBI03772)
(Singapore - Singapore)

Responsibilities:
As a Field Operations Engineer with Verizon Business, you will undertake a variety of maintenance and support activities to ensure the efficient operation of a range of networks.


Your main responsibilities as a Field Operations Engineer will involve:

Supporting the ordering and installation of local loops for connections into the network

Performing equipment circuit design, software configuration, physical wiring, cross connects and mapping in support of provisioning and maintenance

Managing the installation, testing and commissioning of new networks, systems, circuits and cablings

Supporting customer and backbone equipment and network installation and activation

Managing logistical work including equipment delivery and storage

Performing 7 x 24 on call duty with priority for immediate attention to faults

Providing support for any local loop circuit faults and equipment failures, including on-site support

Managing suppliers and vendors for smooth delivery of service, escalating as required

Working closely with service providers to improve quality of service, delivery lead-time, maintenance support, accuracy of reports and security of sites

Maintaining an up-to-date database of equipment and inventory, ensuing the maintenance and availability of spares

Maintaining Metro Fibre networks and cabling, and ensuring that the Tech / Pop / GPOP site in an optimal condition, including air-con, raw power and generator backup

Your skills and qualifications as a Field Operations Engineer will ideally include:

A degree in telecommunications or equivalent experience within the telecommunication industry

Hands on experience with Add-Drop Multiplexers would be an advantage
LAN, WAN, Frame Relay, ATM, IP, Satellite and System Integration skills

Experience in Voice Switch Network and Transmission Systems, including optical fibre, SDH, DACCS, Mutiplexer, Routers and Satellite Systems

Experience in Network Management Systems and Data Communication
networks

Sun OS and UNIX operating environment knowledge

Flexibility to work in a 24 x 7 on call work environment, including weekends and holidays as necessary

What we will be looking for in you:

Demonstrating excellent network troubleshooting and isolation skills, as a Field Operations Engineer with Verizon Business you will possess a professional working attitude, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal and a drive for results.

Requirements:Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Others), Engineering (Industrial) or equivalent.
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Applicants should be Singaporean, others citizens or hold relevant residence status.
Preferably Junior Executives specializing in Engineering - Electronics/Communication or equivalent.
